Māngere Town Centre – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all visitors, tenants, hirers, event organisers, and users of Māngere Town Centre (“the Centre”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and its website www.mangeretowncentre.nz.
By entering the Centre, hiring a venue, or using our online services, you agree to abide by these Terms.
1. Purpose and Values
Māngere Town Centre exists to foster community spirit, safety, and sustainable growth for all.
Our spaces are shared and inclusive, guided by the principles of respect, integrity, and accountability. All users and hirers are expected to act in ways that reflect these values.
2. General Conduct
Respect for Others: Everyone using the Centre—visitors, tenants, organisers, vendors—must treat others with dignity, respect, and care, regardless of background, race, religion, gender, or ability.
Professionalism: Event organisers and vendors must conduct themselves professionally and responsibly at all times.
Compliance: All activities must comply with New Zealand laws and Centre policies, including health and safety, licensing, and local council bylaws.
Zero Tolerance: The Centre enforces a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, bullying, or violence.
3. Safety and Security
The Centre operates CCTV and on-site security to ensure a safe environment.
All hirers are responsible for crowd management, emergency procedures, and safe use of equipment and spaces.
Any incident, injury, or unsafe behaviour must be reported immediately to Centre Management or security staff.
The Centre reserves the right to refuse entry or remove individuals for disorderly, unsafe, or unlawful behaviour.
4. Use of Premises and Facilities
Access and usage are subject to the Centre’s opening hours, maintenance schedules, and operational requirements.
Visitors must comply with signage, vehicle restrictions, and any directions from management or security.
Smoking, vaping, alcohol (except in licensed areas), and illegal substances are not permitted.
Personal property and vehicles are left at your own risk; the Centre accepts no responsibility for theft or damage.
5. Venue Hire Terms and Conditions
5.1 Bookings and Approvals
All venue or event space bookings must be pre-approved by Māngere Town Centre BID Management.
A completed booking form and event plan must be submitted in advance for review.
The Hirer must use the venue only for the purpose stated in the booking application.
5.2 Community and Cultural Consideration
Events must respect neighbouring retailers and the wider community by controlling noise and adhering to set time limits.
Hirers must maintain cleanliness—all waste must be removed, and spaces left tidy.
Events should honour and reflect the cultural diversity of Māngere.
5.3 Health, Safety, and Legal Compliance
The Hirer must ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, including emergency exits, fire safety, and crowd control.
The Hirer must obtain any required permits or licences (e.g., food handling, liquor licences, or road closures).
The Centre may request evidence of insurance or public liability coverage.
5.4 Marketing and Promotion
All promotional materials must align with Māngere Town Centre’s values and branding.
Use of the Centre’s logo or name in media releases, posters, or social content requires prior written approval.
Sponsorship arrangements must be transparent and approved by management.
5.5 Damage, Cleaning, and Fees
The Hirer is responsible for any damage to property, equipment, or grounds caused during the event.
Additional cleaning or repair costs will be invoiced if the venue is not returned to its original condition.
A bond or deposit may be required for large-scale or high-risk events.
5.6 Accountability and Enforcement
Any breach of these Terms may result in cancellation, loss of bond, or restriction from future bookings.
Management reserves the right to terminate any event posing risk to people, property, or reputation.
5.7 Liability and Indemnity
Māngere Town Centre BID Inc. is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage sustained by the Hirer, guests, or vendors.
The Hirer assumes full responsibility for the behaviour of all attendees and agrees to indemnify the Centre from any claims, costs, or damages resulting from the event.
6. Website and Online Use
All website content (text, images, branding) is owned by Māngere Town Centre.
You may not reproduce or modify content without written permission.
The website may include third-party links; the Centre is not responsible for external content or services.
Use of the website signifies agreement with our Privacy Policy, which outlines data collection, cookies, and contact handling.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
We respect your privacy and handle personal data in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
Information collected for bookings, newsletters, or communications is used solely for Centre operations and will not be shared without consent, except as required by law.
8. Amendments and Enforcement
The Centre reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on our website and apply immediately upon publication.
Failure to comply with these Terms may result in suspension of access, termination of booking, or removal from premises.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Auckland District Court.
