Māngere‑Ōtāhuhu Local Board

As the elected voice of our region - covering Māngere, Ōtāhuhu, Māngere Bridge, Māngere East and Favona - the Local Board collaborates closely with Māngere Town Centre. Māngere Market Trust

Māngere Market is a vibrant showcase of New Zealand’s multicultural shopping experience, where fresh produce, clothing, and merchandise from around the world are displayed each Saturday in a lively, family-friendly atmosphere.

Mangere Market operates under the guidance of Mangere Trust Board. All profits from the market are distributed to local schools and services that play a role in educating and developing the people of Mangere to achieve more. The Trust encourages people and organisations from this area to apply for a grant that will assist them in worthwhile projects.

Open every Saturday from 7am to 2pm at Māngere Town Centre, Māngere Market stands as a colourful hub of culture, trade, and community spirit.

Auckland Transport

From managing our public transport services to improving roads, footpaths, and parking, AT helps ensure that people can move safely and easily through our community. Their partnership supports better transport options, stronger links to the wider city, and a town centre that is welcoming for everyone—whether travelling by bus, car, bike, or on foot.

Police Māngere

Our local Police team plays a vital role keeping Māngere Town Centre safe and secure. They maintain a visible presence, respond quickly to community concerns, and work closely with centre management on safety events, education, and crime prevention. Residents can access non-emergency support via 105, or ring 111 in emergencies .

Māngere Fire Station

This is a 24/7 crewed station, with multiple career crews working on a shift roster. We respond to a variety of emergencies in our local area. These include:

  • Fires

  • Medical emergencies

  • Motor vehicle accidents

  • Search and rescue

  • Civil defence and natural disaster responses

We also conduct fire prevention and school visits, check smoke alarms in homes and businesses, and offer fire safety advice.
